Charpy Impact Testing
Charpy Impact Testing is a common method of testing to determine a material's toughness, brittleness and ductility. Material can be tested to varying temperature requirements and specifications. Our laboratory can test specimens from ambient room temperature, down to -452*F (using liquid Helium). SGS MSi employs two methods of notching the material: V-Notch and U-Notch. Both methods can be machined and tested at our facility. In accordance with ASTM and ISO specifications, we can also prepare and test sub-size specimens. Click here for our specimen sizing page.
