Mechanical Testing Lab

Tensile testing is our specialty. We can accommodate: high volume, fast turn-around, or difficult material. MSi has the experience to provide accurate on-time test results. Our 10,000 sq. ft. machine shop runs on two shifts, sustaining the capacity to accommodate the volume of testing required for the high volume we process through our lab. Material hardness levels up to 50 HRC can be sectioned on our band saws to verify the heat treat conditions and processes. Abrasive saws permit sectioning of smaller components that have higher surface hardness levels requiring mechanical testing.

We can perform a range of Charpy impact temperature testing from +400ºF down to -321ºF. Special projects requiring -452ºF (liquid helium) can also be performed.

Our engineers review client provided specifications on a daily basis. Projects submitted to our laboratory for tensile and Charpy impact testing are always tested in accordance with a specification. We are experts at reviewing and performing the required testing protocol submitted by our clients. Completed test results are reviewed by our engineering staff and a test report is prepared “on time” to meet the most critical deadlines.
