Our state-of-the-art
ICP Metal Analysis system can effectively determine concentrations of lead far below the 90ppm (effective August 14th, 2009 for paint) level. The series of deadlines intended to regulate and lower the amount of lead currently found in many products can be found on the Consumer
Product Safety Testing website:
http://www.cpsc.gov/ABOUT/Cpsia/smbus/manufacturers.html
Consumer Products Tests include: ICP Metal Analysis (Inductively Coupled Plasma),
Spectro Analysis or OES (Optical Emissions Spectrometry), EDS (Electro Dispersive Spectroscopy) and XRF (X-Ray Fluorescence). All of the methods listed above, alone, or in conjunction with each other will verify the total concentration of lead in a given material.
