Senior Metallurgical Engineer, Director Of Engineering Services
John's 20 years of experience in the steel industry and in performing failure analysis on ferrous products has been an invaluable resource to MSi and our customers. His expertise in ferrous metallurgy has helped our customers solve complex problems, and has earned him a place of respect in the industry and among his peers. But John's experience does not stop with steel as he has performed industrial consulting and problem solving for a variety of applications including: automotive, aerospace, medical, energy/power, fastener, heavy equipment, forging, heat treating, foundry, and transportation (railroad). His experience, leadership, and relationship with our customers has enabled MSi to expand its metallurgical engineering services to one of the largest in the country.
Al Scheive
Senior Metallurgical Engineer
Al comes to us from the forging and foundry industries. With over 35 years experience in both industry and metallurgical problem solving, Al is a remarkable asset to MSi. His investigative analyses experience run the wide field of metallurgical failure analysis, specification review, and reverse engineering. Customers appreciate Al’s ability to understand the problems facing those in industry. His specialties include both gray and ductile iron, casting defect analysis, forging and heat treatment of carbon steel, low alloy, martensitic and austenitic stainless steels, titanium alloys and nickel base alloys.
Pavel Latash

We are proud to say we have Pavel on our team here at MSi. Pavel has over 30 years experience in the field of Metallurgical Engineering. He has mentored many of our staff with his vast knowledge and understanding of the field. His industry specializations include: Failure Analysis, Root Cause Analysis and Equipment Evaluation from a wide range of backgrounds: Power Generation (Nuclear, Fossil, Co-Generation, Steam, Gas and Wind Turbines), Medical Supplies and Instrumentation, Automotive, Farming and Heavy Equipment, Heat Exchangers, Pumps and Valves, Pressure Vessels, Piplines, Corrosion and Welding Problems, Assorted Food Industry Equipment, Microanalysis of Printed Circuit Boards and Microchips.

When we talk about medical implantation materials or fasteners, we talk with Jim. To say he has experience is an understatement. His 30 years of knowledge and metallurgical practice gives MSi a marked advantage from other labs. He has a vast background that includes: Medical implant materials (titanium, cobalt, etc.), fasteners & fastening systems, aerospace and railroad specifications.
Bart Bobek
Associate Engineer
MSi has always tried to improve from within. That is what makes us so proud of Bart. He has moved up the ranks of MSi to become our mechanical and metallurgical weld analysis engineer. His knowledge of weld specifications and understanding of weld procedures helps our customers on a daily basis solve their problems and meet their critical manufacturing time constraints.

Scanning Electron Microscopist, Metallurgical Lab Manager
It’s all in the small details. That is the way Bob sees things here at MSi. His specialization on our scanning electron microscope and micro-analysis equipment reveals his 30 years experience. Our Metallurgical department and Salt Spray Testing have grown to its impressive size with the determination and dedication under Bob’s management.
Andrey Kruglyashov
Chemist
Our chemical analysis department would not be as accurate and proficient without Andrey's 30 years in the field of preparative chemistry as well as in theory and practice of instrumental physico-chemical methods of analysis with the emphasis on optical methods: OES, ICP, AAS, UV/VIS, X-ray diffraction. He has developed and improved methods of inorganic quantitative analysis. Performs analysis on a wide range of materials: metals, alloys, carbides, nitrides and plastics.
Len Caruso
Machine Shop and Mechanical Lab Manager
Len started working with metal in the tool and die industry. His experience in all machine shop techniques gives MSi an advantage when faced with difficult machining challenges. Having a certified CNC programmer and ISO 9000 Auditor at MSi has improved our day to day functions within our machine shop. Len previously managed a divison of Aerospace specimen maching and is capable of fabricating of prototype fixtures to reach specification of test specimen. We are proud to have such an experienced manager in our mechanical and machining departments.
Kim Jozaites:
Accounting Manager
Kim has worked in the laboratory testing industry for over 30 years, learning all aspects of the metals testing field and supervising others. Coming to work at MSi, Kim's skills became a great asset to the customer service department. As MSi grew, so did the need for additional responsibilities. Kim used her knowledge and understanding of the company to assist in the accounting department. It is through her diligence and hard work that she has become manager of our accounting services.
Tamra Gorski:
Sales & Marketing Coordinator
Tamra has brought a unique perspective to MSi. She originates from the Non-destructive testing industry with experience in metallurgical testing as a technician. This blend of testing experiences has enabled her to understand the needs of the customer from many angles. She is heading up our new Internet marketing department, developing and maintaining our new website. The website has required her to implement a new interactive quoting system. Once clients are brought to us via the web she is directly involved by providing quotations to customer inquiries. The strengths she has provided our sales and marketing department creates great optimism for our future.
